eating outside
no mosquitos yet, not too hot, the yellowjackets and wasps had all gone home for the evening. we hope this is the first of many nights we get to dine outside together.
Spring playing
It's been warm around here. 80 something degrees here on April 1. Sort of nice but not a good omen of things to come. But Paloma loves to be outside. She loves her swing, she loves to help in the yard. She loves to walk around with little to no clothing on. Check out the ultra-cool tank top shirt mom made her.
On a mission
I love this photo. I think because of the way her left arm is bent and out. It looks like she's marching, that she knows exactly where she's going and maybe she's whistling...[tune of 'whistle while you work].

sleeping
the last two nights you've had trouble falling asleep. maybe it's the time change.
last night you were very worked up. screaming and crying. i laid you down and rubbed your back and you sobbed so pitifully. but you quieted down and you hugged your dolly and before long you were making little snores.
tonight mom put you to bed and called me up because you were all upset. standing in bed. i came in and you immediately got down on your side, feeling for your dolly. i rubbed your back and you calmed down very quickly.
half an hour later mom called me up to come take a peek at you. you were curled into the corner of your bed, sort of on your side, sort of facing up, your blankie around you and you were holding dolly so tight in. i wish i could have taken a picture.
just found
i just had a roll of film developed that had some old photos on it. this was from our fall pappa dadda days where i would stay home from work and we would almost always spend our afternoon riding around louisville and then stop at the playground for some swinging and playing and watching all the other kids who were playing.
